CED Privacy Statement and Cookie Declaration

CED is aware that appropriate processing of personal data is an indispensable aspect of privacy law. In compliance with this law, this declaration allows you to find out what happens to your data. CED's actions are of course already in line with the General Data Protection Regulation, which will take effect in May 2018.

1. Why does CED collect my data?
Your personal data will be processed by CED for the purpose of entering into and implementing agreements with CED. These agreements mainly ensure that we protect and preserve what is of value to people. We do this for companies in the insurance sector, real estate companies, housing corporations, lease companies, healthcare providers, large corporations and government bodies, among others. The strength of CED is our integrated offer: from prevention, emergency help and claims handling, to repair.

This privacy statement applies to all services and products offered by CED.

As part of its marketing activities, CED maintains general visitor data on its website visitors. In this context, in particular, the IP address of your computer, the time of retrieval and data sent by a visitor's browser can be recorded and used for statistical analyses of visitors and click-behavior on the website. Data is anonymized as much as possible.

In addition, we use data by which you cannot be identified (non-personal data), for various purposes. For example, we may use non-personal information to create anonymous data profiles and enable segmented marketing, to generate statistical information, to improve and manage our current services and products, and to create new services and products.

Customer data can also be used to maintain a customer relationship. Examples of this are communicating with existing customers about new products, services or features of CED.

2. How does CED protect my data?
CED protects the data entrusted to it by using technical and organizational security measures in order to minimize the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. These include firewalls, data encryption and physical and access protection of the data and servers. If you nevertheless think that data has been misused, please contact us. You have the right to expect us to protect and secure your personal information. We work hard to protect CED and our customers from unauthorized access or alteration, publication or destruction of the information we hold. In particular:

We will at all times comply with this Privacy Policy with respect to all information we collect from you;

  • We limit the use and publication of your personal information and ensure that everyone with whom we share such information treats it with the privacy and security it deserves;

    3. How does CED collect my data?
    We collect information in three ways: when you provide us with information, automatically when you use our website or services and products and when we receive information from third parties (our clients).

    4. What does CED collect that can identify me?
    You can be identified by some of the information we collect (personal information). Personal data include your name, e-mail address and IP address (when visiting our website). We only collect personal data if you provide it to us or if we receive it from our clients. All of which takes place within the context of our services.

    5. Rights of data subjects
    You have the right to inquire about your own personal data, processed by us, the purpose and nature of the processing and with whom we share this data. If you have a relationship with our organization, you will be given, the opportunity to view your personal data following a written request (by e-mail to the address below). If the overview provided by us contains factual inaccuracies, you can request us, in writing, to change the information or to have it removed. In addition, if you do not wish to be contacted with information about our products and services, you can inform us of this in writing.

    We may reject requests if they compromise the privacy of others, are unreasonable or repetitive, or require unreasonable effort. Unless you ask us to delete your data, we usually retain your personal data for no longer than is reasonable for the purpose for which it was collected or in order to comply with our legal obligations.
