About 160 participants from 25 European countries had the opportunity in Warsaw to discuss the green card system, the developments of this system in Russia, the newest member state, cross-border fraud and personal injury. Keynote speaker was Mr Wichtowski, President of the Council of Green Card Bureaux. His speech on the importance of consumer protection in the event of (personal injury) claims abroad was highly appreciated.

Another important speaker was Nikolai Fedorov of Twenty First Century, with his presentation on legal liability insurance in Russia and experiences with the green card system in that country. Combating insurance fraud was the theme of the presentation by Jan Reznicek of Generali Group, while Ruth Needham of Keoghs LLP told how cross-border fraud was being tackled in the United Kingdom. Various speakers provided participants with insights into the working of personal injury claims - in the United Kingdom (presented by Paul McClorry), Spain and Portugal (Prof. Duarte Nuno), Germany (Jürgen Jahnke) and The Netherlands (Deborah Lauria).

The conference provided a significant networking opportunity, in addition to the presentations and discussions. Piotr Wojtasiewicz (Country Manager CED Poland): "I am convinced that the success of our Warsaw meeting as regards current and potential customers will translate into further, measurable success across our organisation." CED noted that the success of this conference reflected the richness of the opportunities on offer in Central Europe.
