Successful CED Conference at the Insurance Week 2015 in Spain

On February 19th, CED participated in the XXII Edition of the Insurance Week with the conference “Innovation, future and new technologies… How will they affect the Insurance Sector?” With more than 450 participants, the conference was a huge success.

On February 19th, CED participated in the XXII Edition of the Insurance Week with the conference “Innovation, future and new technologies… How will they affect the Insurance Sector?” With more than 450 participants, the conference was a huge success. Mr. Rafael Orfila, CED Iberia General Manager, welcomed the attendees and presented briefly the issues to be discussed. Thereafter, Mr. Lourens Schouwink, Chief Financial Officer of CED Group, presented the group strategy and projects.

The first part of the conference was led by Mr. Jordi Carbonell, IT & Process Director of CED Iberia. This section contained presentations and subsequent discussions about technological innovation in -
among others - Automotive (driverless car), 360º companies, internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Watson. After the individual presentations an interactive colloquium started in which the audience participated in the debate by asking questions through a digital system based in Whatsapp, Twitter and a web form linked by a QR code.

The second part of the conference was led by Mr. José Cobos, CED Iberia Claims and VDC Director. He presented the new Bodily Injury scale, followed by a debate with several experts on this new scale and its daily application in companies.

We were pleased to have speakers from the most important insurance companies at the conference, such as: RACC, Mapfre, Caser, Pelayo, Direct Seguros, Mutua Madrileña, Ges as well as the participation of Google Spain.
